Whit Wooten, LDO

Whit Wooten joined Wilson Optical Center in June of 2021. He is a native of Johnston county, growing up in Princeton. As a teenager, Whit became interested in the fabrication of eyewear after shadowing his best-friends father who was an Optician. He decided this would be his career path and attended Durham Technical Community College upon graduation from high school.

He graduated with an AAS Degree in Opticianry and obtained his North Carolina Opticians License in 1990. In his 32-year career in the optical industry, he has seen many changes and has worked in several different environments, including retail optical, optometry practices, optical labs and ophthalmology practices.

His extensive training and experience in all aspects of the optical field, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our optical team. Whit is highly skilled in the fitting and adjustment of eyewear as well as interpreting and filling the most complex of eyewear prescriptions.
